Landlords and tenants should notify each other of their intent to either extend or terminate the lease between 6 months and 2 months before the contract ends. If neither party expresses their intent within this period, the lease will automatically be renewed under the same terms as the previous contract, a process known as “tacit renewal(묵시적 갱신)”

If no additional contract is required, you may continue living in the property. However, if a new contract is needed, you must sign for the new contract paper through the real estate agent, which will incur a contract writing fee. If you decide to extend your contract, please inform us as well so we can update the move-out date accordingly.
